What is the EUDR and why must Indonesian exporters comply?
The EUDR, or EU Deforestation Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115), is a European Union regulation that prohibits the sale and import of products originating from land that has been deforested or subjected to forest degradation after 31 December 2020. Every container of palm oil, coffee, or cocoa arriving at a European port must be accompanied by a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) containing the geolocation coordinates of the land of origin.
