Why spreadsheets fail as an asset register, and what asset mapping software does instead
Organisations with hundreds or thousands of physical assets rarely lose track of the count; they lose track of the details. Which parcel boundary is the surveyed one? When was that tower last inspected? Where is the signed lease? Asset mapping software answers these questions by anchoring every inventory record to its real-world geometry, so assets can be located, verified, and accounted for in one place.
Unlike a monitoring dashboard, a spatial asset register is a system of record. Because geometry lives in PostGIS, spatial checks such as boundary overlaps, encroachment, distance to roads, or exposure to flood zones run as ordinary queries rather than manual desktop GIS exercises.

Codeinspira built the WebGIS Land & Building Valuation Analysis platform for PT Saptasentra Jasa Perdana, a property valuation firm, and the Geoportal IGT-PR for ATR/BPN, Indonesia's national land agency.
